There are a number factors that affect the diabetes- your heredity, environment and your life style. Some experts say that it is not only due to the genetic factors that you may develop the diabetes rather it is a combination of genetic factors and your environmental factors.
In type 1 diabetes your immune system destroys the cells in pancreas that make insulin.

Diabetes in pregnancy
Diabetes is a disease in which your blood glucose (also called blood sugar) is too high and high blood sugar level is not good in pregnancy particularly for the baby. Gestational diabetes mellitus develops during pregnancy in some women.
Treatment for gestational diabetes primarily aims to reduce the blood sugar levels within the normal range for pregnant women. The treatment may include regular blood glucose testing and insulin injections combined with some special meal plans and scheduled physical activity.
