As per the reports from (cdc) Centers for Disease Control among the 10 main causes of the deaths in USA for the 2017 and 2018 remain same. The number one cause for the deaths is heart disease in USA . very surprisingly Suicide is the number 10th cause for the deaths in the same report.
Types of heart disease
There are many types of heart diseases which affect the different parts of it
Congenital heart disease
Congenital heart disease is a term that is used to for a number heart deformities that a patient is born with . The defects can be from simple , which may not cause any problem , to complex which may life-threatening. Examples are :
a) An Artrial Septal defects: There can be a hole between the two chambers of the heart.
b) Cyanotic heart disease: This defect results in a low blood oxygen level.
There are several ways by which a heartbeat can lose its periodic rhythm which is called arrhythmia. Hence we can say arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat. Irregular heartbeats are very common in people around the world. In arrhythmia you feel like a fluttering or a racing heart.
Coronary artery disease
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a very common type of heart disease which occurs when plaque builds-up on the inner walls of the coronary arteries.
When blood clot that develops in one of the coronary arteries interrupts the blood flow to heart muscles, the heart muscles may get damaged. This is also called heart attack or cardiac infarction.
Sometimes heart muscles can not pump blood properly . This occurs when the heart muscles do not get enough oxygen due to coronary artery disease , so then heart chambers become dilated.
In this disorder heart does not pump blood around the body efficiently. this occurs when coronary artery disease or higher blood pressure makes the heart muscles very weak and hence the heart can not pump blood efficiently.
This is a genetic disorder and very high chances to pass on the disorder to their children. In this disorder the wall of the left ventricle thickens and thus making it very difficult for blood to be pumped out of the heart.
In this disorder the pulmonary valve is too tight for the heart to pump blood. Hence it becomes very difficult for the heart to pump blood from the right ventricle into the pulmonary artery.
Symptoms of the heart disease depends on the type of a disorder. However the most common symptoms include chest pain, breathlessness, and heart palpitations
